Publiée par le ministère espagnol des Affaires étrangères, cette monographie est dédiée à l’architecte espagnol Fernando de Aranda (1878-1969), actif à partir des années 1902-05 à Damas, où il laissa une œuvre construite importante. Fils d’un musicien de renom ayant appartenu à la cour ottomane et formé à Istanbul, Fernando de Aranda y débuta sa carrière puis s’établit en Syrie. La publication présente plus d’une soixantaine de ses réalisations, dont la plus connue est la gare du Hedjaz à Damas, de facture orientalisante.
